Do you know that the Bible contains both bad news and good news? The bad news is something about you. The good news is something about God. Let’s look at the bad news first.
Question: Is there anything that is keeping you from right now trusting Christ as your Savior?
Dear God, I come to you now. I know that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus Christ died for me and arose. Right now, I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior. Thank you for the forgiveness and everlasting life I now have. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you have just put your trust in Jesus Christ, congratulations and welcome to God’s family ! All of your sins have been forgiven and you now have eternal life in Christ which can never be taken from you. That means your salvation and eternal security is based on the truth of God’s Word, not feeling. Salvation is in no way dependent on our good works. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Memorize all these salvation verses as soon as possible so you can share them with others and assure yourself of your own salvation.
Assurance of salvation is clearly shown in Scripture. Once you are saved, you are always saved. Since your salvation is based totally on faith and what Christ did for you, this means there is nothing you can do that would cause you to lose your salvation. That is true freedom in Christ.
